Embedded Systems
Embedded systems are special-purpos Application or Computing systems for providing specialized support. It is based on microprocessor- or microcontroller system, which is designed for a specific function. They are used limited size, low power, and low cost environment.Embedded systems are widely used in commercial, industrial, and military applications.
Typically, an embedded system consists of hardware and application software components. Some embedded systems have real-time operating system (RTOS). Some small embedded systems may not have RTOS. Therefore, an embedded system can be defined as a microprocessor- or microcontroller-based, software driven, reliable, and real-time control system.

Sensors
A sensor converts the physical action to be measured into an electrical equivalent and processes it so that the electrical signals can be easily sent and further processed.

Communication
Communication Protocols are a set of rules that allow two or more communication systems to communicate data via any physical medium. The rules, regulations, synchronization between communication systems, syntax to be followed and semantics are all defined by the term protocol.

Processing
Processor is the heart of an embedded system. It is the basic unit that takes inputs and produces an output after processing the data. For an embedded system designer, it is necessary to have the knowledge of both microprocessors and microcontrollers.

Control
an embedded system is a general purpose (but small) computer, and a control system is a very special piece of hardware (or firmware, implemented in as an embedded system).

Monitoring
the act of observing something (and sometimes keeping a record of it) “the monitoring of enemy communications plays an important role in war times” type of: observance, observation, watching. the act of observing; taking a patient look.
